This is my beautiful friend Anni who got married last Saturday to her best friend Laine!! It was such an amazing wedding!! The Ceremony and Reception was held at Brickendon. It was the best day with the sun shining, music in the background. The Catering Company I work for Tasmanian Gourmet Kitchen did the catering so I was very excited to indulge on the yummy food. I was highly emotional and priveliged to put my first wedding together of a very good friend. I must say I love the combination of flowers in her Bouquet and the bottles in the tree.. I had the most fabulous solo dinner at Ethos in Hobart.. Ethos serves Breakfast, then lunch and Dinner Tapas style. I love Tapas as you get to try so many different things. I had an amazing waitress, my good friend Claire x

i'm a very proud Mum

I am so so slack!! I am going to make a conscious effort to put more posts up!! First day of Spring today and what an amazing day it was!! So much has been happening in my life over the last few months, a lot i'm not really sure why. I now know that I need things to focus on and look forward to and my gosh I have a lot of that!!

Josh and I are off to Bali in 6 weeks and counting!! I'm sooo excited!! Then my wedding season kick s off in Nov which im ecstatic about! Then there's Christmas , Summer, lots of eating and drinking, going camping, attending a lot of my close friends weddings and much more! Now that puts a smile on my face.

Ohh and we now have a Puppy Murphy, soooo cute

Josh and I finally got to go and stay at a friends shack in Binalong Bay last weekend! We had the best time just hanging out together , Josh surfing me walking the beaches going Kayaking in the Lagoon, eating the best food drinking amazing wine.

Finally I have some time to relax!! The last 5 or so months have been extremely hectic with Weddings and Corporate Functions and as full on as it has been I've loved every single minute of putting each wedding/ function together. I've been lucky enough to work at some amazing places around Tasmania, just to name a few; The Arc at Coles Bay, The Lake House at the back of Cressy, Low Head, Josef Chromey, Leaning Church Vineyard and Strathlyn.

So now it's time to catch up with Brides for the coming Season which is really exciting as i'm already nearly booked for Jan and Feb. Not only are these weddings at amazing properties, vineyards and Functions Centres a few of them are my dearest friends which makes me putting the wedding together that bit more special.

Idea's for your special day

There are so many things you can do to add that special touch to your wedding day here are a few idea's

Beach Wedding

For a beach wedding I can imagine shells scattered on the tables, arrangements consisting of succulents, seaholly, orchids and lots of greenery. Maybe not a bouquet but flowers in the Bride's hair or a wrist corsage. One long table that everyone eats at or canape's flowing all night. Dancing under the stars.

Garden Wedding

Unstructured flowers everywhere as if they'd just been picked from the garden. peonie's, lissianthus, david Austins, freesia's, silver suede, magnolia, tuberose to name a few. There would be jars scattered along the centre of each table. Large arrangements and a wreath as you first walk into the marquee oozing with soft pink peonies, david austins, garden roses and silver suede hanging with string. Lanterns hanging from the trees.

Country Wedding

I would be using what's on the land for instance natives. Lots of green red and mustard Kangaroo paw, green leucadendrons, seaholly, brazillia. The tables would be covered with hessian and antique cutlery would be used. To dress the table's candles, wine and green water glasses would be added which would give a fresh look and feel.

Classic Wedding

Crisp white tablecloths would cover the tables with the finest cutlery and dinnerware. Wine and water glasses on the table with one tall arrangement of structured roses on each. For lighting Chandeliers would be used. In a dominant section of the venue a sweet table would be set up with bite sized desserts in classic glass jars and cake stands. The colour scheme would be black and white with a touch of soft green.

The Catering company I work for does quite a lot of weddings at Brickendon and the barn has always looked beautiful with chandeliers coming from the ceiling, the crisp white tablecloths against the rustic of the barn looks so romantic.

I've been to Moorilla quite a few times to have wine. If you haven't been next time your in Hobart go there, it's not far from the city of Hobart. I love the modern design the big open spaces.

Your backyard! I worked at a wedding last Saturday in Lyttleton St in East Launnie and it was so nice and simple! Candles everywhere, the bar was in the shed, people were sitting on hay bales covered with fabric, jars of flowers everywhere. With the food it was cocktail so there was canapes initally then meals in a bowl which is such a great idea. So take a look in your backyard!

Hello everyone, well it's been over two months since my last post!! That's terrible!! I just struggle with having the extra time to upload photo's, it seems to take forever for me!!! Hello everyone!!!!

I have a couple of new photo's from work I have done of late. A week ago I did a job at The Lake House a property out the back of Cressy. It's a beautiful old home that's going to be a boutique Hotel. I made some gorgeous Vase arrangements for a Volks Wagen function there and of course just my luck, when I went to take some photo's.. Yes my camera was flat!! Wasn't happy!! There was a photographer out there so hopefully I will be able to put some photo's up soon. Who would of that that down this long windy road there would be this amazing property. It's getting the opportunity to do these jobs every now and then that makes my job AMAZING!! Hey everyone,

Well I finally have some more photo's of my latest work; wedding's, bouquet's, vases etc.. I'm doing a wedding in Hobart next weekend at Meadow bank Vineyard which i'm really excited about. The wedding season is starting to slow down for me after a very productive summer. I have a few in Winter and then bring on Summer! I already have quite a few booked in! FINALLY I have some photo's of the weddings i've been putting together and also working at. To keep myself busy i've been working for Tasmanian Gourmet Kitchen which is a catering business run by Bill and Caroline Dowling. Everything about the job is awesome especially the food it looks and tastes amazing! Also we get to work at these beautiful property's.

Country women just have this natural flair for putting flower arrangements together , not only the flowers but the whole look of these marquee's has just been so diverse. You'll see in some of the photo's.

Sooo if your getting married or having a function I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Caroline for the catering.

Hi everyone,

Hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and New Year's and are ready for 2010. Well i've been busy camping, touring Tassie, swimming, walking, eating and drinking. I'm no longer running my business from The Vintage Rose. I'm going to freelance this year, so that I can work and save some money to eventually get my own shop.

Sorry I've been slack with my blogging.... I've been flat out at work with getting everything ready for the Niche Market and now making Christmas Wreaths from all the orders I received at the Market. It was such a successful and fun Market. I loved it, it was such a good way for me to do some networking, get my name out there and help out with such a special cause. This if The amazing Fiji.... We stayed on the Coral Coast... Everyone was sooo friendly, whenever you saw someone they would say Bula Bula (hello hello ). They would do anything for you. I had the best time apart from there being a Tsunami warning on a day that we were there. That was a bit scary.

This was a wedding I did early this year at the Red Feather Inn which is in Hadspen. It was absolutely amazing. If your getting married and haven't decided on a venue as yet I would definitely recommend the Red Feather. They have barns that have been renovated for smaller intimate weddings or if its a bigger wedding like the one above a marque can be set up.

The Farmers Market is on at Delicacy in Canning St every 2nd Sun and I make up cute posies like the ones above and have a stall there. Its a nice small market with an organic vegie man, a variety of fruit, a couple of ladies that sell home made jams, relishes etc, organic chocolate, a plant lady that also sells a variety of herbs and also Land Fall thats a family run business that sell meat. The're changing premises so they are not at the Market at the moment. So if your in the area and cross fingers it wont be raining come and visit us. Its on from 8.30-12.30

This is the store I run my business from. It's located in Tamar St just down from the Albert Hall and in between Wags and Tails and the motor bike shop. I'm so lucky to run my business from Amanda's shop. It's got such a nice atmosphere filled with french provincial, Antiques, local designed products and heaps more. If you've never been in the shop you should definitely come for a look :)
